The Pixel Tree Project is a permanent 2,000×1,500 pixel canvas where every pixel costs $1 and every pixel sold plants a real tree. You buy pixels, upload your image, and your spot stays on the canvas forever — while a real tree gets planted in the world.
Every pixel costs exactly $1. You can buy a single pixel for $1, or drag to select a larger block — a 10×10 area costs $100, a 50×50 area costs $2,500, and so on. There are no hidden fees or recurring charges.
Yes — permanently. Once you purchase pixels on The Pixel Tree Project canvas, they are yours forever. The canvas is a static, permanent record. No subscriptions, no renewals, no expiry. Your pixels and your image will be on the grid for as long as the internet exists.
Trees are planted through verified reforestation partners in areas that need it most — including degraded lands in Africa and Latin America, wildfire-damaged regions, and community-led conservation projects. Every purchase contributes directly to real trees in the ground.
After your payment is confirmed, you will receive a unique upload link via email. Use that link to upload any image you like — it will be cropped and scaled to fill your purchased pixel area on the canvas automatically.
Anything you like — your logo, a photo, artwork, a message, or anything else you want to display permanently on the canvas. The image will be scaled to fit your pixel area, so square or rectangular images work best. The minimum recommended image size depends on how many pixels you purchased.
Yes. The canvas is fully mobile-friendly. Tap the 'Select Pixels' button to enter selection mode, then drag your finger across the canvas to select your area. You can also pinch to zoom in and out.
Yes — you pick exactly where on the 2,000×1,500 canvas your pixels sit. Zoom in to find an available spot, drag to select your area, and that specific location is reserved for you during checkout.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. All major credit and debit cards are accepted, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay where supported by your device and browser.
Our goal is to plant 3 million trees in 2026 — one for every pixel on the canvas. At that scale we can absorb thousands of tonnes of CO₂ annually, restore critical wildlife habitat, and create a permanent digital monument to collective environmental action.
Every year, millions of acres of forest are destroyed by deforestation, agriculture, and wildfires. Trees are one of nature's most powerful climate tools — a single mature tree absorbs up to 22kg of CO₂ per year, provides habitat for hundreds of species, prevents soil erosion, and helps regulate rainfall. Planting trees at scale is one of the most cost-effective climate interventions available.
Yes. When uploading your image, you can optionally add a URL. Visitors who click your image on the canvas will be taken to your link — making it a great way to showcase your business, project, or cause permanently.
